kanaria
continued.

       this page contains spoilers

Kanaria was left out on several occasions by the dolls earlier in the season, and tried to involve herself more than they would allow -- I think this is, in part, because her arrival as the "last doll" could trigger the Alice Game, but also because they didn't know her well yet, or understand the interesting soul beneath her strange exterior.  Later on, Kanaria exerts herself more successfully, and her presence becomes comfortable to the others.

In the end, though her sisters tell her to leave because it's too dangerous, she stays and fights Barasuishou, expending herself, and causing Suiseiseki to protect Kanaria at the cost of Suiseiseki's life.  This has a strong effect on Kanaria's emotions, and she grabs for Suiseiseki's Rosa Mystica before Barasuishou can take it, vowing to protect it with her life.  She uses her strongest violin attack and manages to rip Barasuishou's right arm, but unfortunately the attack also destroys her violin.  Barasuishou's other arm rematerialises her sword and runs it through Kanaria's body, taking her life, and as a result, both Suiseiseki's and Kanaria's Rosa Mystica.

Kanaria's actions led to an important outcome, because after watching their deaths, Shinku becomes angry and passionate, finally dropping her decision to remain passive, and unleashing her strength on both Suigintou and Barasuishou.  From then on ~träumend~ heads towards its close.  Because of the outcome, Rozen restores most of the dolls to their bodies, including Kanaria, so I am looking forward to seeing more of her in the third season.
